Senior Executive/Executive, Library


Yale-NUS College seeks an energetic, service-oriented individual to manage and support the acquisition of monograph materials for the Library. The incumbent will play a role in supporting library access services, which includes interlibrary loan, document delivery, and course reserve items to support the teaching, learning, and research needs of the College. The incumbent will also assist in the overall operations of the Library and contribute to Library projects and initiatives. He/She will work closely with faculty, students and colleagues, promoting an engaged, proactive style of service supportive of the College’s living and learning environment.

The duties include:

  • Manage daily operational tasks of acquisitions; order library materials in various formats.
  • Manage ordering and receiving of books, videos and other materials for the library collection.
  • Collect statistics and produce monthly acquisitions reports
  • Manage renewals of a small collection of eResources (Library on Demand).
  • Keep up to date with current trends in acquisitions and collections management. Seek opportunities to introduce new methods and improve processes.
  • Process requests for course reserves (Reserve Books/Readings).
  • Maintain the Reserve Books/Readings collection.
  • Assist in processing interlibrary loan and document delivery requests.
  • Provide circulation/service desk coverage.
  • Handle general enquiries, including help with databases and other web-based resources.
  • Collaborate on group efforts and participate in the implementation of library programs and projects.
  • Perform other duties as required


  • A Bachelor’s degree or a polytechnic diploma, preferably in library studies
  • At least one year of relevant experience. Familiarity with an online library system such as Innovative Interfaces’ Sierra/Millennium, acquisitions and ILL practices would be advantageous
  • Be highly service-oriented and enjoy interacting with students, faculty and staff
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision and as a member of the team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational and analytical skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing programs
