Full-Time Librarian/Senior Librarian – Business Library – NTU Libraries

Job Description

NTU Libraries invites applications for the position of Librarian or Senior Librarian in our Business Library.  The successful candidate will provide tailored professional services and information support to students and staff in the Banking & Finance Division by developing, managing and providing access to specialized information resources, and to ensure their optimal use through instruction, research support, scholarly communication services and collaborative engagement. Applicants should have broad social sciences skills and specific experience or interest in business, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and have a strong interest in providing a diverse array of services in response to changing environments in information, education and research.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop a relevant collection in Banking & Finance based on a deep understanding of the Division’s teaching, learning and research needs.
  • Provide specialised research assistance, information literacy instruction, and scholarly communication services that are customised for Banking & Finance and related business disciplines.
  • Collaborate with faculty and students to showcase their scholarly/creative output through events, exhibitions, digital platforms, etc.
  • Extend and customize emerging services for NBS faculty and researchers in the areas of research impact, data management, open access, etc.


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or relevant discipline, and MSc in Information Studies or willingness to undertake upon hire as an Assistant Librarian**
  • Relevant professional working experience in libraries preferred, including experience providing business reference services
  • Demonstrated subject knowledge and familiarity with business resources
  • Demonstrated experience providing research assistance, library instruction and outreach
  • Initiative to learn and gain new knowledge and skills
  • Good interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills
  • Wide interests and a strong sense of curiosity
  • Able to change, adapt and thrive in rapidly changing environments


*Note: Applicants without the MSc/MLIS are invited to apply if willing to undertake the professional qualification on a part-time basis while working as Assistant Librarian.
