Full-Time ILS Specialist – Singapore

Job Description

Role purpose

This role establishes a local presence for the ILS team in the Asia-Pacific region, and requires a self-motivated individual. You must consistently provide excellent service whilst building and maintaining strong relationships with internal clients, colleagues in the ILS team, and with external 3rd party vendors.

Using a wide range of commercial and in-house resources, you will work with colleagues in the global Information & Library Services team to provide vital support (research and enquiry services, subscription management, current awareness) to teams across the company globally.

Main Responsibilities
Establish ILS presence in Asia Pacific
• Build relationships with key stakeholders to identify their needs
• Promote ILS to the wider Asia Pacific team
Research & Enquiry Handling
• Liaise with analysts and consultants to identify their research requirements
• Use in-house resources, commercial databases and external websites to answer ad-hoc research enquiries
Current Awareness
• With colleagues, manage the current awareness platform
• Support end users with training and advice
Company Monitoring
• Identify companies of potential interest to the Research teams
• Track company mergers, acquisitions and name changes
• Download annual reports and additional publications as appropriate from multiple sources
Subscriptions and Copyright
• Assist with provision of subscription, copyright & licensing information to business
• Provide advice and guidance to analysts on subscriptions including compliance with T&C’s
• Promote awareness of copyright compliance
• Liaise with vendors to resolve issues with subscriptions
New Starts and Leavers
• With colleagues, provide a comprehensive introduction to the ILS team for all research, consulting, sales and marketing new starts
• Assist with the leavers process

Knowledge, skills and experience
• Degree or Master in Library and Information Science or equivalent qualification
• Strong research skills
• Proven experience using commercial databases
• Demonstrable user support and literacy experience
• Ability to prioritise own work ensuring project objectives and targets are met
• Ability to adopt a flexible approach towards work
• Understanding of information governance & compliance
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication. Confident in dealing with multiple teams and stakeholders within the business.
• A strong commitment to excellence and meeting the high quality standards expected by our internal clients
• Ability to speak, read and write Mandarin is beneficial
