The INSEAD Emerging Markets Institute (EMI) is a world class think-tank for the creation and dissemination of credible and timely information on issues related to business management, economic development and social progress in the emerging economies. This includes the development of cutting-edge pedagogical materials, research publications and data sets. INSEAD faculty have built up a significant body of academic and applied research on the emerging markets. Along with our Distinguished Fellows, they are also engaged in the development of pedagogical materials, research papers and documents related to the emerging markets.

An exciting development within our EMI is the upcoming creation of a digital repository of the Institute’s data which can be used as an informative and useful resource by the INSEAD community and public users.

We are now seeking a Project Manager to lead the Digital Data Repository project within INSEAD. This is an exciting opportunity and though offered initially as a two-year contract may lead to something beyond that.

  • To curate and index EMI primary data by usable/acceptable formats and categories
  • To manage role-based access to appropriate internal and external users, e.g. single sign-on integration, usage statistics
  • To provide training to end users and assist them with data search
  • To strategise EMI’s visibility and search optimization on the various multimedia platforms (e.g. EMI website, Twitter) for more effective outreach to targeted audience

To achieve these responsibilities we will need someone who is comfortable and experienced in stakeholder management, as well as working with our external third party provider. It will also require expertise in security, analytics and reporting, plus implementation, roll-out and maintenance.

Technical requirements:

  • Sound knowledge of enterprise content management, such as acquiring contents from different sources, conducting regular system checks
  • Experience in implementation of institutional repositories
  • Knowledge of metadata standards for digital objects and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Java)
  • Experience with statistical analysis applications
  • Knowledge of research data management best practices across the research lifecycle, including creating, processing, analysis, preservation, access, and reuse of research data
  • Other technical knowledge, e.g. Open Archives standard and protocols, OAI-Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH), Open Archival Information System, Open Source, OpenURL as well as API design, building and protocol
  • Library background is preferred for systematic addition of contents
