Hi all,
It’s been a busy year for all of us at LAS, and how time has flown. Only 2 months ago, we had hosted the IFLA WLIC 2013 event in Singapore. I hoped that most of you found the experience interesting and had picked up invaluable learning points along the journey.
So what’s coming up in October? For one, the Library 2.013 Worldwide Virtual Conference would be held from 18 Oct to 20 Oct 2013. It’s a virtual conference and the best thing is – it’s free! You can get into the conference by using your terminals in your office or your home computers. Our immediate past president of LAS, Mr. Gene Tan, will be delivery a keynote address on 19 Oct 2013 around 1500-1600 Singapore time. For those of you interested, you may check this program schedule link for details of programs in Singapore Time. The official web page for this event can be found at:

Call for submission to SJLIM 2013
I know some of you may have presented at the recent IFLA event, it would be nice if we could collect the articles from Librarians in Singapore into the next issue of SJLIM, so I’d like to appeal for submissions of your papers relating to this. Thanks in advance!
We are planning to provide a complimentary copy of the In 99 Words book to LAS members and are trying to work out the logistics behind this. If you have any queries, please check with publications@las.org.sg
