How time flies it’s already past the middle of May and yes the LAS AGM was held on the 12th May 2012. For those of you whom have missed it – you can catch some of the photos taken at the event from our LAS Facebook pages (please look under the Photo Album area). Those who wish to get copies of the digital photos may contact Yit. The main happening at the AGM was the vote by members present for a new Logo for LAS – details will be forthcoming once all the administrative and official stuff have been settled – so that’s something to look forward to!
Other news include an official change of name for a big group within NLB – the previous Library Professional Services (LPS) Group has been re-organized and renamed as the Resource Discovery & Management Group (RDMG). NLB also has announced a partnership with City Developments Limited (CDL) to work on a new Children’s Section for the Central Public Library (CTPL) – dubbed the “My Tree House” – which aims to be a green library – not only in its focus of collection but also the way it would be built and operated. That’s another thing to look forward to! For details please check this link.
