Terms of Reference:
The Library Association of Singapore (LAS) Council (2003-2005) approved the formation of the Special Libraries Section on 7 February 2005 as proposed by interested members and other special librarians. The purpose of the Section is to provide members who work in the special library sector a platform to discuss and promote their work in the wider community.
- To provide a platform for members to discuss issues pertaining to library, information and knowledge management services in special libraries
- To provide opportunities for members to network, collaborate and work towards the professional interests and welfare of library, information and knowledge professionals engaged in special libraries
- To provide support to library, information and knowledge professionals in special libraries to develop their professional skills and expertise

To enhance and promote the recognition of librarians, and information and knowledge management professionals working in special libraries
Membership in this Section is voluntary and is open to all LAS members.
