Forum on Professional Development Scheme

Many of you attend training courses and undertake professional development activities as part of your organization'sstaff development programme. Wouldn't it be good if you can also chock up points for these activities that can be counted towards getting recognized certification which can help you to advance in your career?

The National Committee for Library & Knowledge Information Professionals in Singapore (NCLKIPS) is working on such a scheme to help our professionals get recognition for their training and staff development effort. The proposed scheme has been discussed and endorsed in principle by the Council of Chief Librarians as well.

The forum will explain the rationale and details of the proposed scheme. The main purpose is to obtain feedback from LAS members and other interested parties so that we can continue to work towards an effective scheme that benefits the entire profession.

Time :    4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Venue :  NUS Central Library Theatrette 2

Hosted by Mr Choy Fatt Cheong, Chairperson of NCLKIPS and University Librarian at Nanyang Technological University.

Please register by 9 Dec 2006.
